Can you see how cute this worm is? yes a bunch of them attacked my Crape Jasmine plant by eating al the leaves. But still who can hate them? I heard these worms are called Tomato Worms. They are a type of caterpillars who will later turn into moths. Tomato worms, or commonly called as hornworms with the scientific name manduca quinquemaculata, are a type of caterpillars. It’s named due to its tail that similarly appears horn. They’re one of the largest caterpillars extending up to 4 inches long. Above photo is taken at a countryside area in Sri Lanka. It is the view I saw from the front porch of my childhood house. Growing up I hadn’t had enough of the view, and I loved all shades of green in front of me. Paddy fields, tea plantation and a tea factory at the top of the mountain are income sources of villagers. Some are traditional paddy farmers while some are employed in the tea factory.
